The staff of SLTA has worked to create a diverse offering of classes offered throughout the year to instill a practical, thorough knowledge of the craft of theatre in its students, as well as various specific areas of study to provide a deeper understanding of the tools any actor needs in their acting toolbox.

Acting

Our guest instructor for the Spring 2020 semester will be the incredibly talented Anna Maria Sparke. She will teach an in-depth, thorough course centering on acting for the stage, geared to each different age bracket.

Sophomore Class [ages 6-11]: Every Thursday, starting Jan. 16th through April 2nd, 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. $100 for all classes

Senior Class [ages 12-18]: Every Tuesday, starting Jan. 14th through March 31st, 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. $100 for all classes

Vocals

Our guest instructor for the Spring 2020 semester will be the incredibly talented Liesl Cruz. She will teach an in-depth, thorough course centering on the voice, geared to each different age bracket. 

Sophomore Class [ages 6-9]: Every Thursday, Starting Jan. 23rd through April 2nd from 5:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. $75 for all classes

Junior Class [ages 10-13]: Every Wednesday, starting Jan. 22nd through April 1st  from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. $100 for all classes

Senior Class [ages 14-18]: Every Wednesday, starting Jan. 22nd through April 1st from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. $150 for all classes 

*Please note that the Senior class final 30 minutes will alternate weekly between male and female voices and how to navigate through voice changes. 

We also offer a 10% family discount. Please call our box office, (318) 424-4439, Monday through Friday from Noon-4 p.m. to receive your discount.

BROADWAY BASICS: July 13th-17th

For several months, the staff of SLTA has worked to create a diverse offering of classes to instill a practical, thorough knowledge of the craft of theatre in its students, as well as various specific areas of study to provide a deeper understanding of the tools any actor needs in their acting toolbox. The Broadway Basics will consist of one week-long intensive and will be broken down into age groups. Every day will begin with a check-in and brief meeting that will include all age groups. The camp will then branch off into specific techniques and areas of study. Take a look at our schedule and class offerings included in the pamphlets.
