Intro to Vocal Auditions for Musical Theater
This 12-week hybrid class taught through a combination of Zoom and Thinkific will provide students with the tools they need to prepare a successful vocal audition.
We’ll begin by laying the foundation for healthy vocal production no matter the style. Students will learn how to isolate head & chest register as well as exactly what “mix” is (and is not), dark and light vowels, volume, and how these three components when put together create a variety of vocal colors, giving young singers choice.

Students will then have an opportunity to put what they’ve learned into practice by preparing for a mock audition. Students will choose an audition song based on a mock audition call from pre-selected options. They will then each receive a 15 minute individual coaching session on the piece itself applying all of the vocal technique learned in the first 4 weeks.

Week 12: Full Group Live Via Zoom - Final workshopping + Record Auditions
Due to the limitations of technology this class is limited to 10 students to ensure everyone receives a full hour of individual one-on-one coaching throughout the semester broken into four separate 15-minute sessions. This also means that everyone will not attend class live every week. Once you have registered you will receive a detailed schedule laying out exactly when your student is expected to be live on Zoom as well as which Thinkific module they will need to complete independently during class time while their peers are receiving their private coaching sessions.
